Media Server Backups
A private backup utility for its owner's media-server application settings and databases. It uses rclone to encrypt backup archives before storing them in the owner's Google Drive.
The utility uploads backups, reads them back to check their integrity, and removes older managed copies after a replacement is verified. It is for personal use and is not offered as a public service.
Privacy policy
The utility requests Google Drive's per-file permission to create, read, and manage files used with this app. It does not request general access to the owner's other Drive files, Gmail, contacts, or calendars.
Backup contents and filenames are encrypted locally before upload. The utility downloads and decrypts managed backups locally to verify them. Google Drive stores the encrypted files and associated service metadata under Google's policies.
Google authorization tokens and encryption keys are stored in access-restricted files on the owner's computer. A separate recovery copy of the encryption keys is maintained by the owner. This information is not published on this website.
The utility does not sell Google user data, share it with advertisers, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. Its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The intended retention is two verified cloud backups, with a temporary third copy while a replacement is verified. The owner may stop the utility, delete its managed files, and revoke its authorization through Google Account connections. Revoking authorization does not itself delete existing backups.
This informational website contains no sign-in form, analytics script, or backup download service. Its hosting provider may process ordinary web-request information under its own privacy policy.
Terms of use
This utility is maintained by its owner for personal use. No public accounts or hosted backup service are offered. The owner is responsible for maintaining recovery keys and checking that backups can be restored.
